Rosemary Wander, who has been associat e provost for researchand public/private sector partnerships at UNCG sincee 2002 and before that chaired the school’d Department of Nutrition, will leave to become vice provost for graduate studies and researcb at in Washington, D.C., on July 1. “I think of this as my next greatg adventure,” said Wander, who before coming to UNCG in 1999 held facultuy appointments at Oregon State and MississippijState universities. “In my job here I’v done a lot of work with our legislatorsin D.C., and so working at American University and livinb in D.C. will be very exciting.
” While Wander will be missed at where she helped increasethe university’s sponsored researchh levels by 40 percent to $39 million, her departure will spark the searcnh for a new vice chancellor who would serve directly on the executive team of Chancellor Lindaz Brady. That person would elevate the administrative profile of the researcuh and economic development functions at the school and spend more time trying to attract federal and privatew research dollars tothe campus.
