Dubai is the firm’s 33rd office and its firsf in theMiddle East. K&L Gates Chairman and Global Managing Partner Peter Kali s said the officewas “i the works for about a and that the firm’s entry was “well-timedd compared with a year ago because the costs are reducedr and there is much more legal talent at more reasonabler compensation levels available on the market.” K&L Gates expectws to grow the Dubai office principally through hires in that region. “I could see additionalo offices in the Middle said Kalis, who first visited Dubaui six months ago in preparingg the firm’s entry there.
“Because of the concentratio of financial and professional services in theDubai area, it’s a very attractive and efficient poin of entry into the Gulf region. Joininb Brendel is Paul de who most recently workedwith Ashurst, establishingv and managing that firm’s Dubai office and helping to open a seconfd office in the United Arab He is a corporatee and projects lawyer with more than 20 yearas experience. Associate Richard Dollimore also is joiningv theDubai office. He most recently worked in the K&Lo Gates office in London.
